Is Direct Sales a scam?

It’s not a scam folks. Your family and friends deserve more respect than that nonsense.

This kind of thought process simply happens because a lack of understanding. Let me explain.

“The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place.”

-― George Bernard Shaw

You use an influencers code. You use a direct sales consultant link. Same thing. Think Uber, Insta Cart, cash back apps. They all have referral links, right?

Companies having a budget for influencers vs. direct sales companies having a compensation plan. Same thing.

You see influencer marketing all the time. Heck you may be one. Ever given someone code or referral link? Ever used someone’s code or link?

Influencers make a commission through their affiliate link (usually 5-15%). Influencers typically cannot see who purchased product through their link (so no customer care there at all). You want to make a lot of money? You typically have to buy a lot of that company’s product to promote hoping for that small conversion rate. One time order, one time payment. That’s it for smaller creators. You usually don’t make the big bucks unless you have 100K + followers and honestly, that sucks. I want to provide my small following with the best products and services I can find. You shouldn’t need a huge following to create an e-commerce.

Now with Plexus.

Customers get a discount. Brand partners get a discount (ambassadors). You get to buy from your own storefront (yep, make money on your own purchases). You get a referral link. A friend wants a product? You send them the link. They use it. You get rewarded. Don’t want to build a team? Cool, you don’t have to. Don’t want to cold message anyone? Cool, we don’t do the ick. Want to just receive a discount and never tell a sole what you’re doing? Awesome. So many people are just part of Plexus for discounts on their supplements and that’s wonderful. I love a good deal.

When looking at a direct sales company its important to ask these questions about the compensation plan (just like you look at the benefits of a job or the terms of a contract with a company like influencers do):

Do I have to build a team? Can I get paid without building one?

Do I have to place an order monthly?

Is there parties involved? (not a fan of “parties”)

Do I have to carry inventory? (hard pass)

Do I receive free training?

Does this company promote cold messaging?

Who is the person I’m partnering with? Is she consistent? What tools does she have available for me?

I’ve been cold messaged too. I can’t stand it.

I’ve felt like just a number too. It sucks.

I’ve been added to 500 FB groups without anyone asking me. It’s annoying

But just because it’s been done the wrong way. Doesn’t mean it can’t be done the right way.

The authentic way.

The better way.

The way it should be done.

You could be the one that does it with authenticity, ethically, and with a servant heart.

I’m not ashamed of what’s allowed me be a full time mom and make a full time income.

I’m not ashamed of what’s allowed me to increase my impact.

I’m not ashamed of empowering other women to do the same thing.

I’m not interested in wasting my time with an organization with poor business ethics, products, compensation plan or culture. I’m only interested in longevity , building a legacy for my children, and helping other ambitious women do the same.

P.S. want to know I know Plexus is legit? Besides being part of the company for 9 years.

This little picture right here is at the bottom of their website. No scam. No scheme. I partnered with this company and the ROI has been great.

And Honestly, if it was a pyramid scheme, then that would make it illegal. I would have been arrested by now…..come on now.
